'Tis the Season!

Well, it is that time of year again and things seem even more hectic with a new baby in the house. It is fun to see Shaylee experience Christmas for the first time. She thinks nothing of our 9 foot Christmas tree (which tipped over while we were gone). Maybe she is learning that nothing is done the normal way in this house! Here is our tree:

And speaking of doing everything big, winter would not be complete without a 6 foot "Michael sized" snowman. Mercedes helped Daddy....

Christmas would not be complete without the obligatory picture of the children in front of our tree. It took about 50 pictures, but we got a few nice ones. Here are a couple:

We recently went on a trip to the Twin Cities for a Christmas Party with all of Michael's (and mine) college friends. Here is a really nice pic of all of us! Boy, we get bigger and bigger every year!

I hope everyone enjoys the holidays and has a happy and healthy new year!

Mom's Birthday and Halloween

Hello Everyone! It has been a while since I updated this blog. My brother so graciously reminded me. So here it goes!

The weekend of October 20th, The girls and I went "up nort" (yes I meant to spell it that way) to celebrate my Mom's 57th birthday. We brought cake and presents. Here are a few pictures.

My brother Bill helped to rake leaves for Mercedes so she could jump in the pile. Mercedes loves to play in them.

Here is Daddy and his girls!

We finally decided that Mercedes was big enough to use her own sink for brushing her teeth. We put her step stool in her closet with the sink and now she loves having her own space to brush her teeth.

My mom came to visit for a few days before Halloween and helped Mercedes "design" her pumpkins. Michael and I carved and scooped out the guts. They turned out pretty cute!

The girls here are dressed up for Halloween. Mercedes is Tinkerbell and Shaylee is a ladybug. (I call her Shayleebug, so I thought it was appropriate!)

Mercedes loves to sit by her sister on the couch. Shaylee loves it too, as you can tell!

These last few pics are just some cute ones of Shaylee. I hope everyone is healthy and happy. See you all soon!

Comments from Marjorie

Dear Strombergs,
I am so happy to see the pictures of your family again. I have missed seeing them in the last year. It is so nice to see how the girls have grown. They are beautiful. I really love your family picture. Thank you for including me in your life. Love , Marjorie

New Day, New Adventures

With a new baby, everything is new to them. Here I have posted a picture of Shaylee eating her first french fry! She, like her sister before her LOVES them. This time Daddy got to see it happen! There is also a picture of her eating her first biter biscuit. She is pretty good at gnawing on it and chewing any pieces she manages to get in her mouth. I think the whole food thing is going well for her!

Michael thought it would be funny to take a picture of me actually sewing a button on my pants. I don't sew (it skips generations in my family, so Mercedes and Shaylee will know how to sew), and Michael thinks he should mark the occasion when I do.

Mercedes recently was invited to the park for a playdate with some of her schoolmates. We all went to McD's for lunch afterward. This picture is of her with her friends. She is also into using notebooks.

Here is a picture of Shaylee with Great Grandma Trojan. Grandma, my mom and I went to a baby shower this weekend and they stayed overnight at our house. It was nice to have Great Grandma there. She loves the little ones.

I thought I would try to post a video of Shaylee. She is trying to eat little puffs that Gerber makes. She does pretty good!

That's all for now!
